Plastic up-cycling pioneers in COP 27

If you’ve heard of COP 27 you most likely know the green zone area. Inside this area, Up-fuse shared a booth with our collaborators the Egyptian Clothing Bank where we showcased our products that are made from up-cycling plastic bags. We were also the producers of the official giveaway that was distributed among all cop27 participants. We specialize in up-cycling waste and plastic, hence we were able to produce 40 thousand tote bags using 300 thousand up-cycled plastic bags. 100 women in Mansheyet Nasser were hired to complete this mission. We are honored to be chosen to be the official giveaway provider and we are looking forward to being present in the upcoming edition of COP 28. Up-fuse is proud to be delivering you products that help marginalized women earn a living wage and be environmentally friendly as well.

We were lucky to be hosted during a talk that concerns women empowerment with UN Women, and also be a part of the “civil society empowerment” movement launched by the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

Since Up-fuse is a social enterprise too, we have earned 7 go the UNSDG goals, and you could also see them displayed in our booth during COP 27. The 7 goals are: “No-poverty”, “Gender Equality”, “Decent work and Economic Growth”, “Industry, innovation and infrastructure”, “Reduced inequalities”, “Responsible Consumption and Production”, “Partnerships for the Goals”.

We believe our success comes down to the values that we hold on to and it’s what makes us stand out. Up-fuse is proudly 100% Egyptian and a women lead business that aims to reach out to global audiences and inspire various businesses into going sustainable.
